Summary
Pumps liquid chemicals, liquid petroleum products, and other liquids into or from tank cars, trucks, or barges by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Verifies tank car numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate placement of cars by crew.
- Connects ground cable to carry off static electricity.
- Inspects tank car exterior for leaks or damage.
- Connects hoses and turns valve to offload product to pipeline.
- Lowers gauge rod into tank or reads meter to verify specified volume of liquids.
- Lowers sample bottle into tank for laboratory testing.
- Copies seal information and attaches placard to tank cars.
- Seals outlet valves on car.
- Connects hose to outlet plugs on cars and attaches special fittings, when unloading cars.
- Tests sample for basic sediment and water content and records reading.
- Inspects tank car and replaces small defective parts, including pin cards and placards.
- Monitors nitrogen or compressed air flow.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
