Position Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for providing classroom-based ABA services to students in Gateway School. RBT’s are valuable members of the classroom who implement a student’s treatment plan that is developed by the Special Educator/BCBA addressing communication, behavior, and social skills. You must have a valid RBT Certification and at least one year in your current position to be considered.

Responsibilities
● Provides 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy in a classroom setting.
● Implements individual Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and other treatment plans for students, based on plans developed by the Behavior Specialist/BCBA.
● Initiates student based interactions, interventions, and engagement independently as guided/trained by the Program Specialist/BCBA.
● Applies feedback regarding BIP implementation, teaching procedures and/or data collection
● Collects information throughout the school day in a timely and efficient manner to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the individualized treatment plan.
● Provides regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals to Program
Specialist/BCBA.
● Communicates ideas and/or concerns with the Program Specialist and BCBA in a professional and timely manner.
● Accepts and implements feedback regarding BIP implementation, teaching procedures and/or data collected.
● Participates in weekly classroom meetings, training workshops, and other professional development sessions.
● Ensures that the student is always in a safe and positive environment.
● Maintains RBT credential
● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree (preferred), High School Diploma (required)
● Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
● Experience working with children, specifically those with special communication needs.
● Strong interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
● Ability to provide a good verbal speech and language model.
● Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
● Proven endeavors toward professional growth and learning.
● Computer skills in Microsoft Suite and or Google Suite
● Minimum of two years relevant experience preferred.
● Physical ability to perform essential functions of this job successfully (requires to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, move quickly, lift or move more than 50 lbs.)
