Job Description:
The main task for our trailer technician is the upkeep and reporting of repairs and maintenance done on our freezer trailers. Mini Melts currently has 30 containers that travel the country. These trailers require general upkeep to make sure they are always roadworthy. This includes PMs on the chassis; brakes, landing gear, lights, tires, etc. Diesel generators, which powers the freezer container while on the road; oil changes, coolant filters, etc. Freezer containers; spraying out coils to make sure that the containers are always running at their coldest temperature. All of the repairs need to be recorded and updated in spreadsheets so that our shipping department knows that the units are good to go and can be staged for a shipment.
When repairs on the trailers are completed, the second task would be an assistant to our maintenance technician. Our production room runs a cryogenic machine that uses pneumatics and hydraulics and our cupping machines that are pneumatic. Assistating could also include and is not limited to working with outside contractors on repairs (this includes the production room equipment, electric pallet jacks and forklifts and walkin freezer units), general building maintenance, including; lighting, painting, landscaping, etc.
Job Requirements:
● Must have a Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
● Routine maintenance of trailer chassis, diesel generators, and freezer containers
● Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
● Able to climb, bend, reach, kneel and stretch for extended periods of time.
● Able to lift, carry, push and handle products.
● Forklift/pallet jack experience is a plus
● Pre-employment physical and drug test
● Ability to work at least 40 hrs per week
● HVAC Knowledge a plus
● Basic knowledge of pneumatics
● Use of spreadsheets, mainly Google Sheets
