Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by following established standards and practices. The RN functions as the primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians as well as assisting the physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
No weekends, evenings or holidays!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observes, records and reports patient condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Educates patient and family members about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness.
- Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.
- Completes clinical assessment of patient status, including an ongoing psychosocial evaluation.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.
- Instructs patients and family members regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Coordinates patient care throughout the continuum, ensuring all testing, follow up and weekly visits are scheduled.
- Maintains exam rooms for necessary cleanliness, supplies and materials.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and practices.
- Follows all health care privacy and safety rules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and/ or Experience:
- Active RN License for the state(s) of practice. Bachelor’s degree (B.S.N.) from a four-year college or university preferred, Associate degree or diploma acceptable.
- Three years RN experience preferably in some aspect of oncology care.
- Past experience with electronic medical record systems a plus.
- Knowledge if OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, Hazardous Material Program, and use of Universal Precautions.
- Current CPR certification, if not it must be obtained within 60 days of employment and kept current thereafter.
General Skill Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with a Practice Management system.
- Attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position to provide excellent customer service to both our internal and external stakeholders.
Physical/ Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to assist patients, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The position requires regular lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental/ Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Patient care and non-patient care environments requiring frequent contact with office staff and physicians. Work may be stressful at times.
The team member is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals and personal protection is required.
