We are seeking a detail-oriented drywall hanger, finisher, and painter to join our Reconstruction Department. To be successful in this position you should be able to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining a high quality of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing the surrounding area by covering it with cloth or plastic
- Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
- Removing fixtures and taping off areas as needed
- Joining drywall panels using tape and plaster.
- Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels
- Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface
- Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface
- Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster in preparation for finishing work
- Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint
- Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces
- Providing decorative and faux finishes as the project requires
- Managing and maintaining all the required equipment for the job
- Communicating with supervisor and office staff about your progress and reporting any job-related issues
- Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when the project is complete
Additional Responsibilities:
- Communicate and follow all OSHA guidelines for job safety
- Manage assets by protecting and using equipment and materials properly
- Work Reconstruction team in other areas of construction and with Water and Fire restoration as needed.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a drywall hanger, finisher, and painter.
- Good knowledge of the tools, materials, and methods used in drywall and ceiling finishing.
- Basic math skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
