Targeted start date is July 29, 2024. The full-time schedule is Monday to Friday 6am to 10am and 1pm to 5pm. Occasionally there may be inspections or an alternative schedule needed between shifts. Note the department is located on the Hollywood Reservation at 3100 N 63rd Ave., Hollywood, FL 33024. Pick up is across various homes on the Reservation and drop-off is to Driftwood Elementary, Driftwood Middle, and Hollywood Hills High.
Position Summary
The incumbent in this position is responsible for monitoring the conduct of students on the school bus to maintain discipline and safety. The individual rides school bus to prevent altercations between students and damage to bus, and directs loading of students on the bus to prevent congestion and unsafe conditions. Participates in school bus safety drills. The incumbent provides direct assistance to young and disabled students in order to promote the safest, most efficient, and pleasurable environment while in route to and from school. The incumbent will drive an STOF owned or leased bus, providing safe and efficient transportation to the STOF employees, students, Tribal Community and visitors as needed. This position is classified as a Supp-42; which requires a 42 week work period (approximately 10 months), paid across a 42 week (10 month) pay cycle.
Qualifications / Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. A minimum of six (6) months of experience working as Bus Driver is preferred. Possession of a valid State of Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with a Passenger Endorsement is a requirement for this job. School Bus Driver Training Certification is required. Demonstrate excellent organization and communication interpersonal skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

It's approximately 30 students total so the Bus Monitor accompanies them on the route and when needed, will serve as a back-up Bus Driver in our Seminole School Bus. Some flexibility is needed for the shift since on occasion there will be bus inspections or assistance provided to another Reservation. Are you ok with the schedule and commute?
