This position is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision and leadership to the shipping and receiving team in a fast-paced, customer-centric specialty chemical plant. The responsibilities of this position include assuring the quality and accuracy of shipments, both incoming and outgoing; maintaining inventory accuracy; planning and assigning work; implementing policies and procedures; enhancing subordinates’ skills and capabilities; and recommending improvements in methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. The role also involves contributing as a plant staff team member, communicating, and coordinating with the Plant Manager, Director of Fulfillment, and other senior management to meet customer and company goals.
Ensure accuracy of shipping and receiving products and counts.
Ensure that all Synsus policies and procedures are followed with a special emphasis on safety, quality, and customer focus.
Lead and instruct employees in their daily work.
Monitor and ensure adherence to right-every-time guidelines and requirements.
Monitor worker behavior to ensure that work efforts meet Synsus quality standards.
Meet or exceed customer expectations for on-time delivery.
Instruct, train, evaluate, and encourage staff.
Organize and complete all necessary paperwork.
Implement disciplinary action if situations require behavioral changes.
Ensure the accuracy of the receiving of materials both physically and in the computer system.
Maintain safety, quality, cleanliness, and production standards of Synsus.
Receive incoming products and materials and document them into the ERP system.
Assign duties to the S&R team based on plant priorities.
Maintain daily inventory records, both paper and computer.
Lead monthly cycle counts and inventory accuracy improvement projects.
Oversee the processing of plant transfers and plant samples, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
Conduct daily open order reports, identify orders with available stock, and ensure their processing.
Coordinate with production to communicate required SKUs and facilitate the shipping of complete orders.
Monitor loads and shipments in the TMS system, ensuring all loads progress to "Delivered" status.
Conduct daily inspections of the receiving dock and take immediate action to resolve issues with non-compliant products.
Oversee loading and unloading activities, ensuring adherence to procedures and safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the shipping area and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards during all receiving activities.
Foster effective communication and collaboration with other departments to maintain workflow efficiency.
Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for all associates and cross-train associates to enhance operational flexibility.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement measures to enhance efficiency in shipping and receiving operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
