Clinical Supervisor Job Description

HOH is a faith-based, low-barrier community center for individuals experiencing homelessness or economic hardship, providing its beloved guests with a holistic and carefully structured array of services, resources, and programs, designed to meet them where they are, and walk alongside them as they return to a self-sufficient life.
Program Involvement Overview
The clinical supervisor will work closely with HOH leadership in providing and supervising licensed and unlicensed clinical staff providing comprehensive care for guests and program participants in all categories of service; relief, rehabilitation and restoration. In coordination with Life Continues Recovery Support, the clinical supervisor will conduct intake assessments and provide ongoing care for Fresh Steps program participants. Fresh Steps is a 12-step recovery program, written specifically for the population HOH serves and eventually feeds participants into HOH’s development program called Fresh Tracks (HOHFT). HOHFT is a four-phase program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to seek and attain sustainable employment while first addressing the physical and spiritual characteristics contributing to their current life status. All of HOH's services and programs focus on individual healing and restoration first. The clinical supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring fidelity to this principle.
Description
The Clinical Supervisor directs and manages the mental health services delivery team using applicable principles of Social Work and/or Counseling, including client psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, group and individual psychotherapy, and treatment planning. The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical oversight and quality assurance to unlicensed and licensed clinicians who provide trauma-informed mental health care services for guests at HOH. The Clinical Supervisor will also provide psychotherapy and counseling for guests at HOH and is responsible for adherence to all applicable licensing, supervision, billing, documentation requirements and overseeing the timeliness and quality of clinical work.
Responsibilities
- Supports evaluation of program services to enhance outcomes as an agent of restoration in implementing clinical initiatives which increase quality patient care.
- Provides direct, individual clinical supervision for licensed and unlicensed clinical staff.
- Monitor caseloads and ensure that supervisees comply with all clinical, legal and ethical practices.
- Conducts assessment of each guest/participant’s psychosocial status and functioning in an effort to document history and identify preliminary items for the care plan.
- Facilitates the overall development and implementation of a comprehensive, individualized plan of treatment in conjunction with other treatment team members.
- Incorporates the participant’s psychosocial functioning and strengths in the plan of care.
- Formulates a plan with program participants, using knowledge of alcohol and drug abuse risk factors, counseling and treatment techniques, and knowledge of the participant's goals.
- Provides and or arranges for therapeutic interventions as outlined by the safety net protocol.
- Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery.
- Refers guests and program participants to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services.
- Prepares and maintains reports and case histories.
- Participates in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures.
- Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapeutic and/or casework; refers guests and program participants to appropriate service agencies as required.
- Attends staff meetings and team conferences; leads team meetings as required.
- Participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills.
- Maintains current knowledge base on counseling issues regarding substance abuse and other psychosocial disorders through conferences, educational requirements for licensure, and relevant current literature.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Positive attitude and open approach to guests, participants, staff and volunteers.
- Ability to work with individuals who are dealing with issues of addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Strong knowledge of addiction, treatment and recovery.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Educational Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
- Must be licensed to do clinical supervision in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience post-licensure expected.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed supervisor of clinical work preferred.
- Experience in providing psychological treatment and services to clients with complex, multiple-diagnosis histories.
- Clinical training and experience with trauma-informed treatment models and interventions for individuals with complex trauma.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,185.00 - $81,053.00 per year
