Provides professional nursing care for NewLIFE patients following established standards and practices. Our emphasis is on excellent patient care and achieving the highest success rates. Registered Nurse is committed to providing excellent patient-centered care. Responsibilities include assisting with the coordination, case management and treatment of the clinical care of fertility patients. Provides patient/couple counseling, OI/IUI cycle management, procedure teaching, and scheduling of treatment after initial and follow up visits. Coordinates patient treatment plans in conjunction with established clinical protocols and becomes familiar with ultrasound scanning of patients and working closely with the IVF Coordinator to assist with documentation and progression of care for IVF patients.
Essential Job Duties:

Perform patient vital signs, phlebotomy and other required tests, record patient history and obtain any information the physician may request to enable him/her to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient.

Report normal and abnormal test/lab results to patients and their significant others.

Phone triage.
-
Educate patient regarding medications, invasive and non-invasive procedures.
-
Serve as a resource to clinical and non-clinical staff.

Communicate with patients and other physician offices.
-
Schedule and process paperwork for patient tests, procedures, labs, medications, office appointments or procedures etc.
-
Initiate prescription orders via electroni medical record.
-
Perform basic (non-diagnostic) ultrasounds.
-
Perform intra-uterine inseminations.
-
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked appropriately and ready for next patient; ensure equipment is clean/sterile and in working order.

Manage the care of the patients through ovulation induction, intra uterine insemination cycles
-
Responsible for ongoing communication between the Physician and the patients.

Assist with Retrievals and Transfers for IVF patients

Counsel patients on infertility treatment protocols, follow up when OI/IUI/IVF was unsuccessful, and talk them through the frustration and encourage them to try again or to continue treatment.

Maintain accuracy and completeness for all charts, testing summaries, and cycle flowsheets for OI/IUI cycle patients.

Assist with coordination of patient scheduling for initial consultations and treatment plans
Supervision:

Position performs under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, then Medical Director.
Education/Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Excellent oral and written communication skills needed, strong organizational ability required.

Certificate/License:

Possession of a current Florida Registered Nurse license. Certification in BLS, additional certifications as necessary.
