This position will work a hybrid schedule which is a combination of working onsite on Campus and Remote.
Under the supervision of the Lead Events Specialist, the Events Specialist will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing Events and Recognition programs for Staff. Provides in-depth understanding and knowledge of the Events field, along with the ability to independently perform a full range of responsibilities, analyze problems/issues of diverse scope, and determine solutions as they relate to all aspects of event planning and programming. Provides comprehensive coordination and oversight of university-wide events, including (but not limited to): the Exemplary Staff Employee of the Year Award Program, Service Awards Program, Staff Town Halls, HR Webinars, and Staff Mentorship Program. Will occasionally guide the work of others as it relates to event planning, annual event calendars, marketing communications, logistics, event strategy, and/or process improvements. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring sound fiscal management of programs.
The employee is responsible for the development, execution, and coordination of large, moderately complex, and/or medium size professional events for UCSD employees; development, implementation, and execution of campus-wide Well-being initiatives, Recognition & Rewards programs to enhance the People Proposition; and promoting a culture of equity, care, inclusion, growth, and purpose across campus.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
