POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member the UI/UX Designer along with the CTO will drive the strategic direction of our technology roadmap, spearhead product innovation, and ensure the successful delivery of our mission-critical initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of technology and make a meaningful impact on the lives of youth around the world.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to building the overall strategy and user interface, from concept exploration through implementation, working closely with the CTO to build designs
- Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process by making compelling designs and concepts and expressing them in compelling visual and verbal ways, such as: stories, sketches, wireframes, flow diagrams, models, 2D/3D mockups and prototypes.
- Interpret and translate complex technologies into simple and beautiful products and user experiences.
- Stay abreast of UX trends and look for creative ideas and inspiration in parallel analogous worlds.
- Break any design problem down in to viable actionable chunks and solve them with clarity and precision.
- Stay in the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes and trends in the mobile design field.
- Research and track advancements in mobile application design patterns.
Qualifications –
· Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Java, Objective-C, C++, or C#
· Experience in Figma or other design tools, with an excellent, clean visual design sense.
· Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams including UI and 3D artists, interaction designers, game developers, full-stack software and hardware engineers, and marketing and business teams.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
· Passion for rapid prototyping, hack-a-thons, game jams, and a general love of making new things.
· A real passion for all things social media and Internet culture. You have a finger on the pulse of Gen Z/Millennial youth culture, emerging digital platforms, and the creator/Influencer/celebrity landscape. So, naturally, you know your way around TikTok, Instagram, Discort, Twitch – to name a few.
· A portfolio that demonstrates a history of proven expertise in multiple areas of UX design, including strategic research analysis, flows, architecture, journeys, personas, experience maps, wireframes, visual design, and prototypes.
· An excellent online portfolio showcasing your design, typographic and visual composition aesthetic across multiple design challenges (MUST SHOW EXAMPLES of work – either an attached .pdf or website / portfolio link).
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in product design or UX.
- 2 years of experience in design systems.
- 1 year of experience with Figma.
OTHER -
- Open to work flexible hours which may include weekends and evenings.
