GARAGE SALE VINTAGE – BUY-SELL-TRADE BUYER in downtown Boulder

The Garage Sale Vintage Buy-Sell-Trade Buyer is a dedicated and experienced member of the team. In this role, you will work in a team setting which requires superior communications skills, friendly and positive energy, and the ability to multitask. Garage Sale Vintage is a retail hospitality concept and every team member is required to deliver a gold standard of customer service and be an ambassador for our unique brand experience.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check in seller appointments at the beginning of and throughout the day.
- Learn the scheduling software (Calendly) and how to make adjustments.
- Check phone voicemail and return calls and emails if questioned about BST processes.
- Contact clients if any scheduling conflicts arise.
- Explain and operate the Buy/Sell/Trade thoroughly with each seller and ensure they are aware of the payout scale options.
- Be familiar with Square POS, checkbooks, and gift card procedures.
- Purchase seasonally appropriate items to style guides set down by the BST Manager..
- Be aware of any marketing promotions throughout the company.
- Continue to educate yourself on the best sellers in each store, along with current selling trends and styles of garments. Build your knowledge of vintage everyday.
- Be extremely knowledgeable with company policies and be able to clearly communicate them with clients.
- Ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately with clients to be able to select items in a timely manner. Instructing or booking clients to an additional appointment if their item count exceeds the maximum amount for one meeting as determined by location.
- Manage time effectively to ensure daily operations of the BST counter function as needed. Be able to fill downtime responsibly with the appropriate tasks to maximize sales, inventory efficiency and fashion understanding.
Processing
- Ensure the cost of goods for each item purchased is recorded correctly in order to have accurate pricing and payout. Be able to manage basic daily accounting accurately.
- Price, hang, and organize inventory in an orderly manner and request assistance from the BST Manager as needed for retail floor control.
- Maintain an understanding of the entire’s store inventory and its needs. Perform full store inventory counts as required.
- Specify items “As Is” or make note of any glaring flaws. Vintage has history!
- Receive wholesale inventory and properly accept inventory into the square system through the PO system. Tag and merchandise that inventory as it arrives.
General Cleaning
- Always keep the BST counter clean and organized to maintain processing efficiency.
- Perform basic tasks to maintain stock of BST supplies. Be able to submit supply reorders to BST Manager biweekly.
- Keep inventory behind the counter organized and get product to the floor as fast as possible.
- Food and drink away from the top of the counter and inventory. Only water bottles with lockable lids are allowed at the counter.
- At the end of the day, ensure the BST area is clean, empty trash,and ensure all of the day's inventory is organized and out to the sales floor.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years experience in a high volume, professional retail environment.
- 1-2 years in a Buy/Sell/Trade retail setting (Recommended)
- Strong organizational and accounting skills. (Google Sheets / Excel)
- Ability to multitask and stay focused under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage individual time to achieve daily tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and to communicate as part of a team.
- Personality, and flexibility, to work in a fast paced and creative work environment.
- Ability to give consistent, quality customer service at the counter.
- Ability to handle constructive criticism about Buy/Sell/Trade decisions and a willingness to be consistently learning about clothes, trends, and vintage on a daily basis.
- Ability to communicate effectively with sellers about what we purchase and how we pay.
- Have a reliable mode of transportation to potentially work at both our Boulder and Denver locations.
- Have a personal cell phone for effective team communications in the Square Team App.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be available to work nights, holidays and weekends.
- Must be eligible to work within the United States.

Pay: From $18.29 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 29 per week
