The Assistant Manager of Merchandise Allocation will oversee the allocation and replenishment for a division (e.g. accessories, apparel) of Forever 21 merchandise. By conducting in-depth analysis of brand inventory and sales performances, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels by brands, in order to maximize sales, gross margin, and inventory turns.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Allocation managers to apply analysis and findings to develop strategic allocation methodology for the department, based on seasonality, geographic areas, store size, brands, etc.

Optimize inventory levels by conducting weekly sales analysis by brand and store, categorizing and grading stores based on prioritized variables in order to adjust the allocation strategy

Execute merchandise allocations by brand/division, incorporating seasonal strategies, weekly allocation/shipment targets, analysis of sales and market trends, store inventory levels, demographics, store capacity, sell-through rates, buying quantities, and product content

Collaborate with Merchandise Planners and Buying groups to identify growth opportunities and minimize down-trending business, which includes identifying the best assortment of merchandise for stores based on past sales performances, emerging trends, and store needs.

Generate sales-to-stock reports to monitor store inventory levels to ensure ideal stock levels are consistently maintained to meet customer demand

Determine category unit and replenishment plans for a designated set of Forever 21 brands, based on each store’s historical performance and projected trends

Provide mentorship to the team, serving as a point person for questions and exemplifying best practices
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as Finance, Mathematics, etc.

Must have 3+ years of retail allocation, merchandise planning orsupply chain experience; at least 1 year of experience in supervisory role is preferred

Must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and basic macros; Must be comfortable handling and manipulating large data sets

Must be highly attentive to detail due to the nature of the job being predominately numbers based

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate resolution of allocation issues and to interact with all level of employees

Must have a strong analytical acumen and skill set, including the ability to recognize trends and patterns within a large and complex data set

Must have an expert command of retail math concepts, applications, and statistical analysis

ADDITIONAL DATA:
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to position offered and work experience. In addition to your salary, Forever 21, and its affiliated brands, offers a benefits package, including 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedule and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
