Benefits

Employees choose either a traditional health insurance plan or a high deductible plan with a funded HSA. Employee cost for family coverage in the traditional plan is only $91.88 bi-weekly or the high deductible plan is $25.12 biweekly, and funded with $1,918/year by the College into an HSA.
Retirement benefits are employer funded with 14.2% contribution into TIAA 403(b) retirement plan, or the Utah Retirement Systems pension plan.
Plus, the College is exempt from Social Security, so an additional 6.2% employer contribution and another 6.2% employee contribution (12.4% total) can go into another 401k retirement account.
Paid leave time starts out between 15-21 vacation days per year, plus 12 days paid sick leave per year, and 15-17 holidays per year.
Additional benefits includes educational/tuition assistance, paid paternity/maternity leave, exercise gym, plus more.

Job Focus

Performs training and development needs assessment with college leadership and Human Resources.
Recommends priorities, timelines, and delivery formats for the implementation of training and professional development.
Uses applicable adult learning theories to design and develop training and development materials that are clear, professional, and accommodate various adult learning styles. Coordinates with subject matter experts as necessary.
Organizes large-scale professional development events for the College such as professional development seminars, lunch and learn lectures, and live department training.
Develops or recommends adoption of leadership model consistent with college values and strategic priorities.
Develops or recommends competencies specific to roles and responsibilities.
Uses software to produce training resources.
Identifies and recommends external training resources that can be used to enhance training initiatives.
Develops and deploys evaluation methods that effectively measure learning outcomes.
Use learning management software and/or other methods to capture and track data related to employee training and professional development.
Partners with college leadership to support personalized professional development plans.
Provides support to end-users of learning management system (LMS) and maintains LMS training content and completion data.
Participates in the development, implementation, and management of the College’s written Plan for Professional Development.
Partners with Human Resources staff on design and delivery of new hire orientation and employee onboarding process.
Maintains current knowledge and skill in education technology, instructional design, and learning theory.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Education, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of two years’ experience in technology-based instructional and/or media design, writing, editing, technical troubleshooting, project management, and organizational skills with a high degree of proficiency and accuracy are required.
Ability to develop effective working relationships, communicate clearly, and deliver a consistently high level of customer service.
Aptitude for working managing complex assignments.
Continuously provide quality services and process improvements in order to support the College’s mission and strategic vision.
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and people of all cultures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in related field.
Strong technical skills with development and learning management software such as Canvas, Camtasia, Adobe suite or similar technologies preferred.
Additional years of professional experience in training and professional development preferred.
