About the Position
The Lead Designer leads and manages high-end to luxury residential + boutique commercial projects, including new construction, spatially reconfigured renovations, and furnishings down to the last detail, in a variety of design styles. This role work in collaboration with the Principal Designer and the entire Design Team, carrying projects from high-level concept through design development and construction documentation, as required.
The successful Designer will produce and oversee the production of plans, elevations + details (hand sketching is welcome and encouraged), finish + fixture selections, furnishings recommendations, and client presentations, aligning project design direction and budget parameters, and ensuring selections meet aesthetic and spatial requirements in addition to client priorities. The Lead Designer will engage in project management both internally and with involved industry partners, both on and off site, and will provide leadership and guidance to the Design Team throughout the process, ensuring presentation graphics meet studio standards.
About You
· Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture (at a minimum)
· 7+ years of Interior Design experience and 3+ years of Project Management coordination
- 2+ years of Construction Observation or Construction Administration experience
- 1+ year in a supervisory role
· Highly proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp (Mac platform)
- Excellent computer + software skills, including high proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp (Mac platform),Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and familiarity with IVY (preferred)
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and reliable
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to excel at details, successfully transitioning from one task to the next, and working in a fast-paced studio environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent people interaction skills
- Construction Documentation experience
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
- Demonstrated efficient time management practices, including proficiency in a shared Project Management software platform (Monday.com)
- Excellent and thorough attention to detail
- NCIDQ certified, preferred (or on track for certification)
- Located in the Austin area (studio located in South Austin)
- Available for full-time employment (40 hours per week)
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance and a reliable personal vehicle
