JOB DESCRIPTION:
Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.
THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT WILL SERVE MANY FUNCTIONS INCLUDING:
1. Prepare accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports of assigned entities to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with corporate policies and practices, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
2. Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis for review by Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller.
3. Ensure all monthly activity for assigned company and related entities, is recorded on a monthly basis and prepare related financial statements on a quarterly basis.
4. Establish and maintain chart of accounts and review entries to proper accounts.
5. Comply with and report exceptions to recordkeeping and accounting policies and practices.
6. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assigned entities.
7. Calculate and remit sales tax deposits in accordance with applicable Federal and State Regulations.
8. Supervise Hotel, Gas Station, and Restaurant Bookkeepers with financial transactions and general ledger postings.
9. Maintain files and documents to assist with external audit process.
10. Maintain and report on records required by government agencies.
11. Prepare and post entries for all non-cash transactions for assigned entities.
12. Prepare and post entries for fixed assets depreciation as calculated by outside CPA.
13. Other duties as assigned.
