ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Q.A./GFSI Coordinator position will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance and GFSI certification.
- Develop, review, update, and maintain all Q.A. processes and procedures to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, GFSI standards and certifications
- Facilitate training to employees on job responsibilities as they relate to Q.A standards
- Serve as primary contact for GFSI certifying body
- Develop and coordinate training sessions to support GFSI certification
- Develop, schedule, and perform internal audits frequently
- Maintain all Q.A. files
- Maintain and update policies and manufacturing operations and practices as required to support GFSI compliance
- Coach, counsel, and train Associates
- Collaborate with managers to enforce systems, policies, and procedures related to Q.A. and GFSI requirements
- Conduct routine audits, report on audit findings and corrective action requirements
- Follow up on corrective actions to make sure they are completed Continuous
Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement efforts through regular team meetings with the various department Associates
- Develop and maintain the training matrix for all production, SQF, and regulatory requirements
- Develop training programs for those areas of the business where they are lacking
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
There will be additional management responsibilities assigned based on individual work experience within the food production industry.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience
- Experience in GFSI accreditation (preferred)
- Proficient in business writing
- Proficient in Computer, software, and data management systems
- Understanding of policy development
- Ability to perform organoleptic evaluations on all edible products produced
- Strong training and communication skills
