Berkley Home Health, is excited to announce an opening for a Staff Accountant with our growing team. This talented and experienced individual will work closely with our CFO to take ownership of the company's financial day-to-day operations, payroll, AR/AP and reporting. The Accountant will perform accounting activities and analysis while utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices.
Qualifications:
•We are looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong knowledge of home health / hospice accounting.
•Experience with Quickbooks required.
•Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing, analyzing, and financial reporting
- High degree of diplomacy in handling sensitive and/or confidential information
- Strong knowledge of Accounting and general ledger entry and reconciliations skills
•The ability to drive results to completion in timeline-sensitive environments
Job Duties:
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, and receipts.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely transactions and cash flow management.
Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll activities, ensuring that employee payments are processed accurately and on time and that they comply with federal and state regulations.
Budget Monitoring: Assist in the preparation and review of the company’s budget, monitoring actual spending against planned budgets, and reporting variances to management.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external use.
Expense Management: Review and verify invoices and expense reports to ensure accuracy and proper cost allocation.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with relevant laws and regulations affecting finance in the healthcare industry to ensure compliance across financial operations.
Financial Analysis: Perform regular financial analysis to identify trends, forecast future financial needs, and recommend financial strategies to optimize financial health.
Cash Management: Manage daily cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
