Description/Job Summary
Lindahl Reed is hiring a Program Support Specialist to support the Department of Energy’s (DOE) office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). This position will work within the Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO), which supports research, development (R&D), and deployment of efficient and sustainable transportation technologies that will improve energy efficiency, fuel economy, and enable America to use less petroleum.
The successful candidate for this position will provide high quality customer service focused work. They will be attentive to client needs and proactive in anticipating needs and identifying and filling gaps in support. They should be able to quickly adapt to shifting priorities and be able to respond quickly to short turnaround requests.
Responsibilities for the position include:
Support for the Annual Merit Review (AMR):
- Preparing schedule and ensuring all tasks are moving forward and completed on scheduled timeline (Gannt chart), and updating the timeline in the process, as needed.
- Drafting internal and external emails including invitations for participation in AMR and reminders about upcoming deadlines
- Crafting instructions for content of presentations that are submitted by principal investigators.
- Updating website associated with AMR with details about the event.
- Coordinating with internal and external team participating in the AMR – developing agendas for plenary, developing schedule of presentations in conjunction with DOE leads
- Coordinating meetings during event including ensuring A/V is set up.
- Creating plenary slides in coordination with VTO leadership
- Drafting a plenary “run of show”.
- During event plenary, ensuring speakers are prepared and ready to go, and adhering to the “run of show”.
- Collecting award nominations and reviewing/proofing award materials in coordination with vendor
Senior Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement Support:
- Creating and updating engaging ppt presentations
- Developing technical talking points for senior leadership
- Creating technical content for social media
- Drafting technical content for VTO quarterly newsletter
- Providing technical input for strategic stakeholder engagement
- Serve as interface for VTO prizes including participating in communities of practice for Prizes and reviewing applications.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in relevant area
- Strong organizational skills and very detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to synthesize and communicate programmatic information to various stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with many different stakeholders.
- Ability to complete tasks independently, but also in a collaborative team.
- Experience and comfort in preparing and giving presentations.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Forms
- Experience working with senior leadership, especially in a government setting.
- Graphic design experience a plus
- Familiarity with advanced vehicle technologies
