Engage Engineer Search LLC is searching for a qualified Forensic Structural Engineer to add to our client's engineering team. Our client is a nationwide, forensic engineering firm that specializes in commercial forensic investigations. Our client is searching for a full-time Forensic Structural Engineer. This position would be remote and you would work from your home office. This is an opportunity to be involved in challenging projects and to provide technical solutions. You will conduct structural field investigations and analyze failures involving various structural and construction related problems involving commercial and industrial properties.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Determine of the origin and cause, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, roof damage, construction defects and building system failures including envelope, roof, wall and glazing
- Analyze failures in buildings and other infrastructure systems by conducting site visits and applying engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards
- Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
- Prepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred in Civil or Structural Engineering
- P. E. (Professional Structural Engineer) certification in Kansas
- Valid Driver's License
- Must possess strong writing skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and inspect roofs
- Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spaces
- Ability to drive to site locations
