Sr. Project Engineer to perform electrical engineering and design studies, develop primary and secondary electric infrastructure solutions for Lythix clients. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for working with the secondary electrician team to develop and design client specific secondary facility design, one lines and BOM, and do ETAP arc flash models as well as work with the client PMs and others to help design primary distribution and analyze distribution models for needed system upgrades, system fault coordination studies and other projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Create conceptual design documents, drawings, and scope of work parameters for project solutions.
- Perform engineering studies including load flow, arc flash, surge suppression, relay coordination, ground grid design, transformer sizing, conductor, and cable sizing, etc.
- Ensure engineering standards for projects are designed to NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards (and other standards as required) and that construction conforms to the standards.
- Perform site inspections to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with engineering specifications. and possess the ability to make field engineering changes to resolve unforeseen circumstances.
- Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product.
- Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Must have distribution engineering design, protection and control implementation, and arc flash studies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have experience with ETAP or Milsoft software solutions.
- Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
- Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software.
- Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, and be customer focused to appropriately identify and respond to clients’ technical and business needs.
- Must be a problem solver, with creative and innovative thinking.
- Knowledge and understanding of transmission and distribution engineering, including routing issues, conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material specifications, etc.
Preferences
- P.E License in Texas, New Mexico.
- Experience providing services to oil and gas clients.
- Experience working in an EPC role.
