The Accounting Manager directs and supervises the accounting system. This includes oversight of billing, AR, cash receipts, collections, AP, general ledger, internal controls, and audits. The Accounting Manager will also assist the Controller in maintaining contracts and job cost schedules within the accounting system.
Responsibilities
- Review contracts to ensure jobs are properly set up in the accounting system and billing requirements are met.
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Coordinate with Project Managers monthly to ensure we are billing for all costs timely and properly.
- Review job progress monthly with Project Managers. Obtain billing information to prepare monthly job progress billings as per each customer’s requirements.
- Monitor receivables and contact customers for payment status. Communicate any collection issues with the Controller and Project Managers.
- Maintain bank reconciliations monthly.
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules monthly.
- Maintain prepaids and other balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Record job cost reclassifications as needed following analysis of job cost reports and transactions.
- Annually prepare audit contract revenue confirmations
- Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience/Attributes/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field experience required.
- At least five years of construction and/or cost accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Sage 300CRE preferred but not required.
- Advanced MS excel experience.
- Strong skills with standard office software (MS Word, MS Outlook)
