Role Description:
We are seeking a determined and talented Tax Accountant to join our our Tax & Accounting team. In this capacity, the right candidate will play an important role in our firm’s (and our clients’) financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting, tax preparation, financial management and compliance with the law. The selected candidate has the ability to persevere and stay focused in the face of challenges.
This position provides internal and external support to ensure success in accomplishing our mission for internal and external client financial operations.

This integral member of our Tax & Accounting team requires tax and accounting acumen, discernment, and an attitude of working the problem. Accurate communication and efficient process workflow are also key attributes, resulting in frequent appreciation from our clients and fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing tax and accounting data.
- Prepares financial reports with visuals as needed.
- Assist with tax planning and projections.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information efficiently and timely.
- Manages A/R, A/P, Payroll, 401k, Monthly and Quarterly Fee Billing activity.
- Prepares bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
- Maintains and reconciles subsidiary accounts in a timely manner (by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions, etc.)
- Analyzing accounting records and provides financial recommendations and actions
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information and provide substantiation of financial transactions through auditing documents.
- Maintains tax and accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- During tax season (Feb-Apr) provide accurate tax preparation in an efficient time period for the client and assists the tax & accounting team as needed.
- Supports external clients through any audit process.
- Total commitment to compliance with all industry rules and regulations.
- Fosters a culture of learning, performance, and exceeding expectations; keeping ahead of industry trends and best practices.

- Adept in tax, accounting, and the strategic application of information in advisory services.

- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and effective process workflow.

- Proficiency in using common office technology from a variety of providers (for example; Google Suite, Orion, Schwab, Wealthbox, etc.) or high learning ability to quickly become proficient in these technology platforms.
- Demonstrated Proficiency in using common accounting and tax preparation technology such as QuickBooks Online and Drake Tax Software or high learning ability to quickly become proficient in these technology platforms.
- Understands how to use technology to solve problems and help others.
- Effective communication skills on all platforms: personal, phone, text, instant Messenger.
- Driven by curiosity and learning how things work and making them better.
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into the data and understand what it means.
- Desire to be the elite in the Client First tax & accounting team and the financial services industry.
- Highly articulate and able to explain complex information clearly and simply.
- Attention to detail and consistent, reliable accuracy with all data.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
- Skills to adapt and re-prioritize within a fluid environment.
- Supervise / mentor / encourage / develop team members during tax season.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Over 3+ Years of experience in Accounting, Tax and Financial Services.
- CPA designation.
