Purpose
Work within a highly collaborative, customer service-oriented team to provide exceptional support for the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Service Center. This includes processing and responding to maintenance, custodial and support services requests and inquiries via phone, email and electronic workbench.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process Facilities Services service requests and inquiries. Assist clients with the use of the current electronic WORQS request system and eventually the new work order system, UT Works, and online event, move, and surplus forms.
- Complete follow-up calls to clients as necessary or assigned, and alert management to critical and time-sensitive issues. Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a superior level of ownership, cooperation, collaboration, and ability to accept constructive feedback as necessary.
- Work effectively with university building managers, campus clients, and internal staff to establish a mutual rapport. Attend outreach meetings as necessary or assigned. The position requires the ability to focus on details and fully document individual client needs and problem resolution. Candidate must have the initiative to work independently and as a team member, and follow Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
- Communicate outage notifications and maintain a campus-wide outage calendar.
- Represent the Facilities Service Center on special projects. Maintain the unit's procedure books and lists.
- Perform other job related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or GED. Five years of experience providing customer service. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, prioritize, and manage and prioritize multiple duties and projects, all while adhering to internal standard operating procedures. Detail-oriented with strong technical skills to understand and learn the new work order system. Professional demeanor with strong oral and written communication skills. Proficient in Outlook, MS Word, and Excel.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree. More than five years of experience providing customer service. Experience working in a service center environment. Experience and working knowledge of UT Austin buildings and clients. Experience using a work order system. Experience working in the University’s Facilities Services or Project Management and Construction Services. Able to speak Spanish.

- Remote work with the possibility of transitioning to on-site. Will need to come to campus for meetings and events.
