Description
Responsible for the development and retention of the Store Donation Program. Cultivates currently active local store donors with the implicit goal of receiving more pounds per donation and more frequent donations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify, cultivate and strengthen new as well as existing donor relationships
Build relationships with store managers
Maintain presence with the staff of our retail partners with regular site visits and training
Review MTD and YTD activity of our retail partners regularly with the Food Procurement Manager
Maintain active communication with Transportation staff to identify potential issues and opportunities for program improvement at retail stores
Develop a strong working relationship with Operations Department to ensure needs of donor, agencies, and HAFB are being met
Participate in Feeding America network retail-related calls and conferences
Represent the HAFB at grocery Industry events
Devises a system for donation tracking, evaluating and reporting for MAFB and its four affiliated food banks
Assist in data entry and management in various databases
Other duties include Blue Receipting Store Donation Program food donations which entails receiving and documenting donations of food by local national donors and performing data entry and receipt reporting
Provides backup/support to Product Procurement Specialist
Assists our four affiliated food banks with their strategies and plans for SDP program development.
Provides back up support to the Food Procurement Manager
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Previous warehouse experience preferred
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and convey concepts in a concise, articulate and persuasive way.
Ability to communicate effectively with all staff members.
Ability to perform basic math functions.
Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook Software.
Capable of learning and independently operating equipment required for the position including but not limited to printer, multi-use copier, fax and phone system.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Professional, dependable, conscientious, and willing to work with others in a team environment.
Employee must be able to work on own without close supervision
Sound verbal and written communication skills including professional phone etiquette are required.
Must have good working knowledge of the practices and procedures required in safe and efficient handling of merchandise composed of light and fragile to heavy and bulky commodities.
Employee must be flexible and able to work past scheduled time on short notice and must be willing and able to perform other related duties that are assigned.
Must be capable of multi-tasking and willing to accept additional duties as they develop.
Maintain compliance with established Food Bank directives, policies and external regulations.
Must possess valid Alabama driver’s license

The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. The employee may be required to walk, stand, push, pull, lift, bend, and carry objects up to 30 pounds. With forklift traffic in the facility and product stacked and stored throughout, this position requires someone who is mobile and who can hear and watch for traffic and normal hazards of a warehouse environment. This position also requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time and involves computer work with frequent interruptions. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Routine travel to functions and special events is normal. Occasionally, may be required to respond to organizational needs outside of normal working hours. Occasionally, conducts work in an external environment that requires driving.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $49,000.00 per year
