The Senior Director of Billing Operations and Analytics will play a critical role at Veracyte through the leadership of our CLIA laboratory billings team.
Our billings operations department spans across multiple products, workflows and payer contracts to ensure best-in-class collections results. With leadership across multiple systems, vendors, and workflows, this individual will be tasked with delivering and executing upon a multi-year roadmap to ensure optimized productivity utilizing payor data analytics and leveraging automation. Further, partnering cross functionally to ensure the patient experience is seamless will be critical.
The Position will be accountable for the following activities:
- Lead billing operations team to optimize productivity and output
- Meeting monthly and quarterly cash collections forecast
- Lead billing payor and data analytics to drive insights and process changes to improve cash collections and reduce denials
- Work cross functionally, and with the in-house software team, to enhance proprietary billing software systems, including scoping business needs, identifying opportunities for automation and managing project timelines
- Developing and delivering upon a continuous improvement roadmap, as well as breaking down product related processes to ensure billing is demonstrating our One Veracyte value
- Manage the pricing and billing policies, as well as the billing steering committee
- Partner with managed care to ensure contracted rates are optimized and achieved
- Provide oversight with auditing needs and analysis relating to outstanding claims collectables, revenue recognition and reimbursement performance
To be successful, the candidate is expected to be an expert in billing and reimbursement processes and data analytics with an ability to improve workflow processes and set priorities for the team. Further, executive communication skills are critical.
You are a self-starter with a background in CLIA laboratory revenue cycle management; additional experience in data analytics, project management or process/operations is required. The ideal candidate is known for their ability to scale operations and organizations to ensure best-in-class results. You enjoy working cross functionally to learn about the entire patient workflow and partner with colleagues to drive improvements in both customer experience and the efficiency of operations. You've demonstrated cross-group project management experience with the ability to envision process improvements and guide teams to execution.
Other experiences and skills include:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to project manage and facilitate group meetings
- Leading a large billing team spanning all aspects of billing operations
- Experience in process improvement methodologies
- Deep understanding of payor data analytics and previous track record of increasing cash collections
- 10+ years of industry related experience and 7+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in healthcare, medical insurance and/or life science industry (preferred)
